Last night, I finished reading this book. Might I recommend it to you?
In a generation plagued with questions of, "What is the gospel, and what should the gospel look like in the life of a Christian?," Matt Chandler calls us to embrace the one and only biblical gospel and make it explicit in our lives. Not assumed, but explicit. He's been exhausted with stories of those who grew up in Christian homes, only to lose interest in Christianity and fall away from faith in Jesus. "What I found," Chandler writes, "was that...the gospel had merely been assumed, not taught or proclaimed as central. It hadn't been explicit."
In order to win souls into the Kingdom of God, we must know, believe, speak, and live the atoning work of Jesus Christ on the cross in such a way that everyone understands how the gospel influences every facet of our lives.
I echo the words of Rick Warren by saying, "If you read only one book this year, make it this one. It's that important."
It is a really good book!
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving it to Nathan! I stole it and read it before he got a chance to. : )
